Ardmore 8 Year Old Single Cask Single Malt Whisky bottling

To celebrate the launch of my new book, The GreatDrams of Scotland, I worked with the fine folks at Douglas Laing
to choose a cask that I would bottle in commemoration, and after going through a number of samples,
this Ardmore 8 Year Old Single Cask Single Malt Whisky hit me as the one to choose;
not only does it taste fantastic, but Ardmore was actually the first Scottish whisky distillery I ever visited,
and happens to feature in the book for being part of the Teacher’s blend recipe.

  1. Rob

    Deliciously smooth, with plenty of sweetness but not overbearingly so – a great whisky to offer people who don’t think they like whisky. They’ll probably change their mind

  2. Chris Farrell

    First tried this whisky at the Cheadle makers market and proceeded to buy a bottle. A lovely smooth, very quaffable dram, with gentle sweet peat and smoke on the nose, combined with waves of vanilla florals ! The palate is smooth and creamy, with vanilla and toffee notes, with smooth honey on the finish and lasting peat smoke. A lovely whisky and would recommend for anyone who wanted a gentle introduction to peated whiskies.

  3. Anon

    Looking for a little stocking filler for my otger half, and knowing nothing about Whisky, I was kindly adviced to try this little number. It turned out to be a great success! The other half was adamant that he did not like Whiskey. However, the Ardmore has made him change his mind! He says it’s a totally different drink as to what he has tried previously.
